Frequently Asked Questions

Do you take insurance?

Clinicians at Anxiety and OCD Navigators are considered out-of-network providers as we do not accept insurances directly. Many insurance plans offer out-of-network benefits that can help cover the cost of sessions. We provide a receipt after each session that can be submitted to insurance companies for out-of-network reimbursement.

How long are therapy sessions?

Sessions are typically 45 minutes long. However, if it is determined that you or your child would benefit from shorter or longer meeting times, your clinician will be able to adjust session length based on your treatment needs.

How often are sessions scheduled?

Most people meet with their clinicians on a weekly basis in the beginning of treatment. However, depending on the severity of your symptoms, your clinician might recommend meeting more (or less) frequently. As treatment progresses, sessions are typically spaced out more to give you the opportunity to practice the skills that you are learning in therapy in everyday life.

How long does treatment take?

The length of treatment depends on many factors, including the type and severity of your symptoms, age, time that you have available to devote to treatment and current life circumstances. The type of treatments used at Anxiety and OCD Navigators are meant to be time-limited, and most people see positive changes begin to happen within the first few weeks of starting therapy.

Do you provide therapy in-person or through telehealth?

We meet with clients both remotely and through telehealth, depending on their preferences and circumstances. For in-person sessions, we meet at our office located in Buckingham, Pennsylvania. We also provide teletherapy using a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform for Pennsylvania residents and for people living in states that are a part of PSYPACT: an interstate agreement that allows psychologists to practice telepsychology in participating states. Do you prescribe medication?

As clinical psychologists, we are not able to prescribe medication. If we think that it might be helpful for you or your child to consider medication, we can help you find a prescribing physician who can provide a consultation regarding medication.
